Getting started
What is Blinkcade Maths?
Short, hands-on maths lessons from kindergarten to Grade 12. Instead of memorising steps, learners guess, build the idea with pictures they can change, and explain how they know. Every course is a path of short modules, and every module teaches one idea properly.
Who is it for?
Learners from kindergarten to Grade 12, the parents helping them at home, and teachers who want to use it with their classes. Anyone can start at any level — there are no age gates on courses.
Do I need an account?
Yes — lessons and practice are for members, so progress can be saved. Creating an account is free at blinkcade.com/join. Learners under 13 get their account through a parent or their school.
What does it cost?
The first module of every course is free, forever. See Pricing for plan details. School accounts are a free pilot during early access.
What devices does it work on?
Any up-to-date web browser on a computer, Chromebook, tablet or phone. There’s nothing to install.
Lessons and progress
How does a lesson work?
Every module follows the same six steps: Connect (a real situation), Model (guess first, then build the idea), Guide (a worked example), Practise (questions with step-by-step hints), Apply (a real-world problem) and Check (a short check on your own). Most modules take about 15 minutes.
What does “mastered” mean?
A module is mastered when you pass its short check at the end, on your own. About a week later it comes back as a quick refresh quest, so what you learned stays learned.
What are sparks, streaks and badges?
Sparks reward good thinking: getting an answer right first time, making a guess before the answer appears, and explaining how you know. You choose a daily goal (Casual, Regular or Serious). Any day with 10 or more sparks keeps your streak going, and every 7 days in a row earns a streak shield that covers a missed day. Badges celebrate milestones. There are daily limits — each question earns sparks once a day, and there’s a cap on the whole day — so replaying for sparks has a ceiling. Every spark is saved to your account.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Progress is saved to your account, so it follows you to any device you sign in on.
I found a mistake in a question. What should I do?
Please tell us at ricky@blinkcade.com with the course and question, and we’ll fix it. Every answer is checked twice, but we’d still rather hear about it.
Parents and families
A guide for parentsHow your child learns with Blinkcade, and how we keep them safe · 8 pages · 792.5 KB DownloadHow do I set up an account for my child?
Sign up at blinkcade.com/join and choose “My child”. On your Family page, select “Add a child” and enter their first name, level, a username and a password. We then email you a short notice explaining what we collect — click the link in it to confirm, and your child’s account unlocks.
Why do I have to confirm by email?
Children’s privacy laws require a parent’s consent before a child’s account is used. The email explains what we collect and why; clicking the link is your consent. If you don’t confirm, the account is deleted after 14 days. Didn’t get the email? Check your spam folder, or use “Send the email again” on your Family page.
How does my child sign in?
With the username and password you chose, on the log-in page. On a shared tablet or laptop, set it up as a family device from your Family page: your children then just tap their name on “Who’s learning?” (with an optional 4-digit PIN).
Can I add more than one child?
Yes — up to 8 children per family. Each child has their own account, progress and report, and they never see each other’s.
Can I see how my child is doing?
Yes. Your Family page shows each child’s week at a glance, and each child has a full report: lessons, modules mastered, questions right, badges, certificates and recent activity. You can also get a short summary by email every Sunday (you can turn it off).
My teenager already has an account. Can we link them?
Yes. On your Family page, create a one-time code and give it to your teen. They enter it under My learning › Family and choose to link. They can unlink themselves at any time.
How do I download or delete my child’s data?
Open your child’s report from the Family page. You’ll find “Download their data” at the top and “Delete account” at the bottom. Deleting removes the account and all its progress immediately.
I forgot my child’s password.
Open their report from your Family page and set a new password under Account.
Schools and teachers
Setup guide for teachers and school adminsStep-by-step, with screenshots · 14 pages · 1.6 MB DownloadHow do I set up Blinkcade for my class?
Sign up at blinkcade.com/join and choose “My class”. Set up your school (or join it with your school’s teacher code), create a class, add your students and print their login cards. It takes about 15 minutes. Our setup guide for schools (PDF) walks through every step with screenshots.
How long does school verification take?
Usually within one working day. We verify every school before students can be added. While you wait, you can create classes and assignments.
Do students need email addresses?
No. Teachers add students by first name and last name or initial. Each student gets a login card with the class code and their secret sign-in.
How do students sign in?
At blinkcade.com/class: they type the class code, tap their name, then tap their two secret pictures in order (K–5 classes) or type their 4-digit code (grades 6–12).
A student lost their login card or forgot their pictures.
Open the class, find the student under Students, select “New sign-in” and print a new login card. The old sign-in stops working straight away; their progress is kept. After 5 wrong tries a student is paused for 15 minutes — a new sign-in lets them in sooner.
How do other teachers at my school join?
Your school admin (the teacher who set up the school) shares the teacher code from the School dashboard. Colleagues sign up as “My class” and enter the code under “Join your school”.
What does the class dashboard show?
Who’s active, how many students have finished each assignment, a progress heatmap of every student and module, the most common mistakes in the last 30 days (with what probably went wrong), suggested groups for your latest assignment, and a report for each student.
Who can see my students’ data?
Only the student’s teachers and their school’s admins. Teachers can’t see other teachers’ classes, and every view of a student report and every export is recorded for the school admin.
How do we leave or delete our school’s data?
Email ricky@blinkcade.com. We’ll export your data first if you’d like, then delete all your students’ data. Teachers can also remove individual students at any time — if a student isn’t in another class, their account and data are deleted.
Privacy and safety
Is Blinkcade safe for children?
We built it for children: no ads, no chat or messaging, no public profiles or leaderboards, and no outside trackers. Children’s accounts have no email address, photo or location. Read more on our Child safety page.
Do you sell data or show ads?
Never. We don’t show advertising, and we never sell, rent or share personal information for anyone’s marketing.
What do you collect, and how long do you keep it?
Only what we need to teach and save progress. Children’s accounts unused for 12 months are deleted (we email the parent first), and unconfirmed child accounts are deleted after 14 days. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

I forgot my password.
Use “Forgot your password?” on the log-in page. Children’s passwords are reset by their parent from the Family page, and students get a new sign-in from their teacher.
My child’s account says it’s waiting for a grown-up.
The parent needs to click the confirmation link we emailed when the account was created. Check your spam folder, or use “Send the email again” on your Family page.
