Crown City

Codex

Every word Crown City throws at you, and what it means in the game.

  • 88.8 After Hours

DJ Lowkey’s pirate radio station, whispered from a different roof every night.

  • Blinkcade

An arcade chain on Arcade Row. You can’t miss the billboard.

  • City Buzz

Whatever 88.8 After Hours is talking about tonight.

In the game Coming soon: three daily tasks.

  • Crown City

A port city of animals wrapped around a bay, with an old bell tower on the hill at its center.

  • Crowns

Rare commemorative coins, struck with a pinch of crownstone. People stop to look when one rolls past.

In the game A rare currency. Your first Daily Run finish each day earns one.

  • Crownstone

The golden rock under Crown Hill that carries sound. It’s the gold you see in a Shredquake’s cracks.

In the game The gold in a Shredquake’s cracks.

  • Curfew Night

The night every crew in the city rolls together, straight at the Hush Tower.

In the game Coming soon: the finale run, across all three districts.

  • Daily Run

Tonight’s route. Every dusk, Honey Express dispatch posts one route, the same for everyone in the city.

In the game One seeded course a day, the same for every player. The board resets at midnight UTC.

  • Gold Crown

A crownstone coin that rings when it drops, and fills your Hype in one go.

In the game A power-up that fills your Hype instantly.

  • Hype

The city listening. Land tricks, grinds and close calls, and the windows start lighting up.

In the game A meter from 0 to 100 that fills with style. Full Hype means you can drop a Shredquake.

  • Jukebox

DJ Lowkey’s request line. Bring her lost mixtapes back and she’ll play them.

In the game Coming soon: remix stems you unlock with mixtapes.

  • Lost mixtapes

DJ Lowkey’s tapes, scattered across the districts in the raid on 88.8.

In the game Coming soon: 10 to find in every district.

  • Power-up capsules

Glowing capsules float above the street every night. Nobody admits to launching them.

In the game Boombox, Spray Can, Spring Trucks, Jet Deck, Helmet and Gold Crown.

  • Quiet Hours

Crown City’s noise curfew: nothing loud from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., by order of the Hush Patrol.

In the game On every poster and billboard, every run.

  • Rep

What the street says about you. Every run is seen by somebody.

In the game Your level. More Rep opens new districts: Harbor Lights at Rep 3, The Rooftops at Rep 6.

  • Shredquake

When Hype peaks, slam your board and the street rings back: gold cracks, a shockwave and the drones blasted out of the way.

In the game At full Hype, press E. For six seconds obstacles shatter, tokens fly to you and your score multiplier jumps.

  • Spots

Where crews hang out and the best lines start. Every district has eight.

In the game Coming soon: named places on the map.

  • The Crown

The old bell tower on Crown Hill that gave the city its name. It’s the Hush Tower now.

In the game Coming soon: the tower Curfew Night ends at.

  • The Gap

How much noise you’re putting between you and the Hush Patrol.

In the game Coming soon: how far back the drone is.

  • The Night

What Crown City called its nights: arcades open till dawn, food carts, rooftop sessions and skaters everywhere.

  • Tokens

Arcade tokens, the small change of the Night. Crowds toss them to skaters the way they’d tip a busker.

In the game Collected along the lines you skate, and spent on cosmetics.

  • Whisper permit

The license that lets night workers stay out after ten. Couriers and dock crews carry one. Skaters don’t.

Crown City’s waiting.

And it’s way too quiet.
